Emotionally Intelligent Project Management
Dev Ramcharan
Emotions affect affect everything: team and individual performance, communications and the viability of organizations. Emotional Effectiveness is key to managing a sustainable career in project management, especially in an age in which Artificial Intelligence is changing every profession. How we understand and manage our own and others’ emotions can make or break a project, program or portfolio in any organization. In this session Dev Ramcharan, a seasoned PMP and an Emotional Intelligence expert, lays out the fundamentals of Emotional Effectiveness and its application in managing delivery through teams.

Metrics: Friend or Foe?
Neil Peterson
Like fire, metrics can be a good servant or a terrible master. Poorly considered metrics can lead to suboptimal behaviors or unexpected consequences. Knowing how to evaluate both specific metrics and your total metrics suite will help you decide if your metrics are a friend or a foe. This session, led by Engineering Manager at Index Exchange and agile veteran, Neil Peterson, will discuss how to develop and use a rubric to evaluate metrics to keep your metrics suite a good servant.

The Strategic Mindset – For Your Organization, Your Career and Your Life
David Barrett
Strategic planning is now a part of the PMI’s Talent Triangle – now identified as a critical component to our current and future roles.   However, reading and hearing is one thing but how many of us are in a position to practice strategic planning and execution?  ALL OF US.  This session will show us how strategic planning is a key to our success at work but, as well, to our careers and our lives.   We will learn how to create a solid plan for any of the three legs and we will leave with the start to our own Professional Strategic Plans.
